Description
The 1943 New Zealand half crown reverse
shows the NZ Shield of Arms embellished with
Maori designs, with the Royal Crown above.
The shield shows the Southern Cross, a sheaf
of wheat, a lamb suspended by a ribbon, and
mining hammers, with 3 ships in between.
‘NEW ZEALAND HALF CROWN’ surrounds
the main design, with the date below.
The obverse features the bare head
of King George VI facing left.
The surounding legend reads:
‘GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR’.
